Look for us just over the eastern side of the Napa Valley floor. We’re nestled between, and behind, Atlas Peak and Mt. George along Monticello Road (also known as Hwy. 121).
More often than not, we garner the privilege of referring to ourselves as being “sunny side up”. The fog that settles on the valley floor comes up over our eastern mountain in waves, dissipating right before our very eyes, leaving our garden farm blanketed in sunshine.
In fact, Sunset magazine refers to our zone as coastal warm. Being on a gentle hillside also means less frost, and hence, a longer growing season.
This fog/sun trade off can come at a bit of a price though. The area is also known affectionately as “Windy Flats” due to the wind that comes over our hills and down into Solano County, primarily late May through the month of June. What does that mean for delicate flower stems? They’re tough!
If your search for sunshine isn’t enough of a reason to find us, there are several travel guides, including Visit Napa Valley’s “Scenic Drives” blog that highlights Monticello Road as a “mountain road adventure that’s worth taking during your wine country stay.”
